Happy Memorial Day!
For those of you who are stuck inside during our rainy weekend I just want to remind you that the yarn shop is open this weekend, Saturday 10am - 8pm, Sunday 12 noon - 5pm, and Monday 10am - 5pm.
The new issue of Spin Off magazine has just arrived.  There are directions for dying your own self - striping yarn,  several shawl patterns and creative ideas for using wool and natural fibers that are a staple in this issue.

I think it is safe to say spring is finally here.  
Time to finish the winter sweater projects and start something light weight.  
There still is time to knit up a fantastic summer scarf for a neat Mothers Day gift.   Scarves are not just for winter warmth anymore.  Make them thin and light and wear instead of a necklace as a great accent piece!

"Step" a wonderfully soft and colorful sock yarn, 85% superwash wool and 25%
nylon.  This yarn has been treated with Aloe Vera and Jojoba Oils for a skin softening experience for your feet!

Learn to knit with double pointed needles, basic mitten construction and also  to line your mittens with wool fleece.  During this cold winter weather these mittens really keep your hands warm and toasty!

New This Week October 5th
The new fall Knitters has just arrived!  Sweaters, Jackets, Color, Cables and Felting projects.  Hobo Patches pullover sweater is my recomondation for a basic sweater.  With interesting details and color patches this would work up well in Tahki Donegal Tweed.  
 Austrian Diamonds socks are 'heirloom quality' with the twisted stitch pattern and
done with Louet North America Gems 100% merino wool.  Six colors of Gems are in stock and special orders for other colors are welcome!
Speaking of socks!  Ten colors of Weavers Wool from Mountain Colors have flown in.  This is a worsted weight wool and knits a very dense sock when knit at 6 1/2 stitches per inch.  Perfect for keeping feet warm during our frosty winters.  Get started with a pair now and have them ready for winter warmth.

September Classes
Easy Beginner Mittens,  Teacher: Sarah Peasley,  Cost: $35.  Wednesdays, Sept. 13, 20, 27, 10am - 12 noon.

Intro to Entrelac,  Teacher: Sarah Peasley,  Cost: $40.  Wednesdays, Oct. 4, 11, 18 and Nov. 1, 10am - 12 noon.

Start with a circular needle and finish on double points while trying out a few stylish hat patterns.

Toe Up Socks,  Teacher: Sarah Peasley,  Cost: $30.  Wednesdays, Nov. 29, Dec. 6 and 13, 10am - 12 noon.
While knitting socks in a new direction, you can try the newly popular techniques of knitting small circumferences on either one or two long circular needles.

Lynn Hershberger's Summer Striped Purse Class is starting this friday from 6-8pm.  Class will meet friday June 9 and 16, and only costs $25.  Two samples are in the store, this is a cute, fun and easy purse to make.  Perfect to learn purse and felt making skills.
